This project originally began as a lighting exercise, with the goal of improving my skills in product composition and lighting. I wanted to work on something in the tech space, and when I came across We Are Rewind, I immediately loved the cassette player they had designed.
To speed up my workflow, I looked to see if anyone had already modeled it, and fortunately I found a great version by MASSx-rz on CGTrader:

After bringing the model into Cinema 4D, I reworked the textures for Redshift and started putting together some shots. The project quickly snowballed as I realized the design would also work beautifully in motion. Since there wasn’t an existing animation of this player, I put together a quick storyboard and created one in Cinema 4D.
Everything was rendered with Redshift and composited in After Effects, where I added sound design and final touches to complete the piece.
I learnt a lot making this and got to experiment with some new camera techniques in Cinema 4d to make my work smoother and quicker, creating a seamless pipeline for the renders and composite.
